During the Qianlong Emperor's southern expedition, he set foot on Longjing Mountain and, inspired, began to pick tea leaves. Suddenly hearing of the Empress Dowager's illness, he hastily tucked the tea buds into his sleeve and knelt to inquire about her health. As he spoke, a wave of refreshing fragrance wafted from his sleeve. The Empress Dowager caught a whiff of the aroma, her spirits lifted, and she felt much better. When she asked where the fragrance came from, Qianlong recalled the tea buds in his sleeve, and with a deep sense of nostalgia, he named it “Longjing Eighteen Imperial Teas.” Fast forward to a day in July 2004, when a delegation led by Peng Mingquan, General Manager of Hubei China Tobacco Industrial Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Hubei Tobacco), visited Zhejiang Tobacco Commercial Enterprises for discussions on brand development. Under Lion Peak, Qian Jingen, General Manager of Zhejiang Tobacco Company, offered constructive suggestions for advancing technological and cultural innovation at the Huanghelou Technology Park, personally advocating and planning the quality enhancement of the Huanghelou brand. Inspired by this, Peng Mingquan and the technical team embarked on a journey to trace the roots of “Huanghelou,” thus igniting the legendary tale of “1916·Huanghelou.”
