In 1916, during the era of China's first tobacco brand, the Nanyang Brothers Company (the predecessor of Hubei China Tobacco), a significant investment was made to hire a Bolivian master blender. This was based on ancestral Cuban recipes, infused with distinctive Chinese characteristics, leading to the creation of the "Zhongxue No. 1" cigar blend, which became the first premium cigar formula in China. In 2010, building upon the legendary "Zhongxue No. 1" blend and considering the smoking habits and preferences of the Chinese people, the classic brand Huanghelou 1916 Cigar was crafted, marking the beginning of an era of luxurious hand-rolled cigars in China.
