Established in 1985, 红河 (Honghe) Cigarette Factory began trial production of "红河" brand cigarettes in 1987 and registered the trademark in 1989. Since 1993, the factory has focused exclusively on a single brand, making it the only tobacco enterprise in the country dedicated to producing just one brand. This has resulted in a product line that includes one brand (红河) and 15 varieties, catering to a diverse range of consumer needs across high, medium, and low price tiers. In 2007, the brand achieved a production volume of 1.615 million boxes and sales revenue of 16.02 billion yuan.
红河卷烟厂于 1985 年筹建， 1987 年“红河”牌卷烟试产，1989年申请注册“红河”卷烟牌号的商标。1993 年起，红河卷烟厂实现单品牌生产，是全国唯一只生产单一品牌的烟草工业企业，形成一个品牌（红河）， 15 个品种，兼顾高、中、低档次，满足不同层次消费需求的品种结构。2007 年品牌产量 161.5 万箱，品牌销售收入 160.2 亿元。
