Derby originates from a famous town in England, renowned for producing exceptional racehorses and hosting matches between two top-tier teams from the same city. Consequently, the cultural connotation of the Derby brand encompasses leisure, sports, and the knightly spirit, reflecting international trends that easily evoke a longing for modern lifestyles. As the Asian version of the globally sixth-largest brand "Derby," 都宝 (Dubao) is also the first mixed product resulting from Sino-foreign cooperation in Chinese tobacco (and the only mixed cigarette product successfully developed in collaboration with the international tobacco giant British American Tobacco). On October 31, 1991, "都宝" cigarettes began production at the Wuhu Cigarette Factory of Anhui Zhongyan Industry Company.

Derby源自英国的一个著名小镇，因为出产优良赛马和同一个城市的两个甲级球队举行比赛而闻名。因此，derby品牌的文化内涵包含了休闲、运动、骑士风采等国际流行元素，容易引发人们对现代生活方式的向往。都宝作为全世界第六大品牌“Derby”在亚洲的输出版本，也是中国烟草第一个中外合作的混合型产品（也是中国唯一与国际头牌烟草巨头---英美烟草公司成功合作开发的混合型卷烟产品）。 1991年10月31日，“都宝”牌卷烟在安徽中烟工业公司芜湖卷烟厂投入生产。
